Maha Devas
The Maha Devas Inn is probably one of my favorite places in Brazil. It is a family-run establishment 100% vegan. It is as close as it can get to an oasis o spiritual retreat.
Maha Devas is a Rustic Eco Inn run by mother and daughter.
They possess 3 special suites. Lotus, Namastê, and Namaskaran (the rustic one).
The food there is 100% vegan, gluten-free, handmade, seasonal, and made with great care for the guests
They have several optional activities and wellness therapies, for you to add to your
package and make it personalized to what you are looking for!
They are extremely flexible, they are able to offer shared rooms if you like, as well as individual retreats from Monday to Saturday, except when there are holidays, then they are always launching new special packages for each special date. Pro Tips for a more sustainable trip to São Lourenço
Water Park (with 9 natural carbonated water fountains)
Parque das Águas is the main tourist attraction in São Lourenço and has more than 130 years of history!
You can't come to the city and not take a day to discover all its corners and sources of carbonated water (minerals) that spring naturally from the earth.
Only 0.007% of the world's water is the same as here. It is very special!
More than a tourist attraction in São Lourenço, the park has 9 mineral water sources, in addition to bringing together several natural attractions, outdoor activities, a spa, lithopuncture, a playground, and much more.
An ideal tour for everyone! There is fun for those who come alone, as a family, with friends, or as a couple
SPA Balneário (with medicinal waters from the park)
In São Lourenço/MG, within the water park, there is a SPA spa with almost century-old French architecture. There the therapies are with the park's medicinal water. Only 0.007% of the world's water is like the water they have there! It's worth getting to know this more than a special place in São Lourenço. The Scottish shower is a favorite! It's like a giant "Wap" that passes through our body. It reminds me of a Shiatsu massage but with water.
Lithopuncture (stones accumulated by the earth)
The Acupuncture of Planet Earth is based on energetic impulses. Lithopuncture is a method of healing the Earth, which has a material form and is based on the principles of acupuncture. Originally, the word meant acupuncture of the Earth through the placement of stones.
Zipline, Ballooning, and Paragliding
This tip is for the brave!
The city's winds and beautiful landscape guarantee safety and pleasure to those who, without fear, can go up and get to know the city in an unusual and fun way with spectacular views and a lot of adrenaline, especially for paragliding
Trails and mountains & Trip to Waterfalls
With more than fifty waterfalls around the city, it is the ideal place for lovers of trails and extreme sports near São Lourenço.
Caldeirão Waterfall
Although access is a little rough, via a dirt road, this waterfall is the perfect place for those who want to take a good dip or just relax and enjoy the beautiful waterfall.
Itaúna Waterfall
But if you're looking for less complicated access, Cachoeira de Itaúna is ideal: just 20km from the center, just a dirt road in good condition to see beautiful waterfalls and even bathe in its crystal clear waters.
Garcias Waterfall
A breathtaking waterfall: this is what you find when visiting one of the most famous tourist attractions in Aiuruoca.
Access is quite easy, the waterfall has a natural pool with crystal clear waters and you can also replenish your energy at the Casal Garcia Restaurant – which is always on our itineraries.
Special coffee route ( in São Lourenço they have coffees awarded as the best in the world)
An experience that turns you into a COFFEE PASSIONATE, the Coffee Route takes tourists to learn from planting to cup on a farm in Carmo de Minas, a neighboring city of São Lourenço.
The tour starts early in the morning in São Lourenço. Visitors are taken in a 4x4 car by the guide in front of Parque das Águas to the farm with world-winning coffees. The entire visit is monitored by a guide specializing in specialty coffees, with explanations of the entire specialty coffee production chain, from the tree to the cup.
After touring the production process on the farm, we were taken to Cafeteria Unique where the roasting process and the science behind coffee preparation are presented. The experience includes everything from the history of coffee to roasting and preparation techniques, as well as tastings and sensory evaluations.
In short, the Special Coffee Route is the path that guarantees that every cup of coffee in your life is unforgettable.
Buddhist Monastery
Suddhavāri Monastery is a Buddhist monastery of the Theravada tradition located in the city of Soledade de Minas, close to São Lourenço, south of Minas Gerais. They are a monastery associated with Wat Pah Pong, the monastery of the famous Thai master, Ajahn Chah, and we follow his way of practice.
In addition to being a Dhamma dissemination center, their purpose is to be a place aimed at those who want to deepen their practice even further through community life, silence, renunciation, and meditation – both lay and monastic practitioners.
All monastery activities are offered free of charge, including accommodation. They exist only through the voluntary donation of those who see the benefit of our existence, for themselves and others.
Maha Devas is an example of slow traveling and sustainable tourism. It offers you authentic, cruelty-free, ecological, and community-based experiences and a chance for you to reconnect with your soul.
So the question is, when are you going to book your trip to this wonderful vegan paradise?
